Isabella's Garden - Room One

Isabella's GardenIsabella's Garden was recreated to please her, and our visiting guests with calm soothing colors and a pleasant atmosphere. Isabella's love of flowers is reflected here, as well as the ability to step just outside on the veranda in the late afternoon to watch the 30 or more deer browse on the hillside beside wild turkey and peacock. Just before dusk, the mated-for-life pair of Canadian Geese flies overhead and honk their nightly greeting ritual to us; as hundreds of swallow tails take to the air and fly in their mesmerizing patterns over the river.

Isabella's Garden was once used primarily as the bridegroom's room during weddings. However, Isabella made her wishes known that the gents needed a different room by making subtle and persistent hints. She turned on the heater in room one. She unlocked the door; she tied the curtains in a knot. Isabella is not a patient lady once her mind is made up. Eventually she took matters into her own hands, to make her point, and moved her favorite nightstand from room 5 to room 1 - where it stands today.

Isabella seems very pleased now, and often her footsteps can be heard rounding the veranda, as she apparently checks to see if her special friends have checked into the room and are ready to join her for tea or spirits.
