The Bordello Room - Room Three
One late night, after a little too much tea in the saloon downstairs, Lily and Rosa decided it needed to be settled then and there in what became the loudest, hair pulling, dress ripping, biting brawl Coloma had ever seen. The fight began with a slap, a "take that back," and that was that. Bets were placed as the hoopin and hollarin began. Cheers could be heard for Lily, and cheers could be heard for Rosa. The ladies tumbled over tables and onto the floor, through the hall and out the door. Spittoons went flying, drinks were spilt, as the two rolled over and over punching and kicking all the way outside. Horses neighed and side-stepped the ball of fury that once was the lovely and sensitive Lily and little demure, shy Rosa. In the end there was no winner... Well let's just say there were two still standing - Lily and Rosa looking like a hurricane had blown them through a cactus field. In their wake they had left a lot of good ol' boys tangled up in their own spurs, as they tried to keep up with the fight or hold on to their drinks and get out of the way. And the room - well it was given to both Lily and Rosa to share. This is why there are two brass beds in the Bordello room. And you would be right to notice and comment on the missing stiles on the big headboard piece; and wonder how that came to be. All that can be said is that after Lily and Rosa's "solution" was arranged, and the ladies moved in, the folks around here did notice on several - no many, many occasions that the sheriff did sport a rather large bandage on his forehead; and was heard to say that he was getting used to the double vision. Some say the sheriff collected his notches on his forehead instead of on his pistola, being the peace maker and all. Lily and Rosa remained friends to the end, and though many had wondered and asked "who is the sheriff's favorite?" - they would only smile and say "the answer is reflected in brass". It would be hard to guess which bed is Lily's and which bed is Rosa's - we might never know.
